What's and when can I do a cassette close?

A cassette close can be done at any time during the day. A cassette close brings the totals in the cassette to zero. It will also tell the merchant the starting amount of the bills; bills dispensed, and bills remaining since the last cassette close. The cassette close will also figure a rejected bill as a dispensed bill; even though the bill is still in the machine, it is no longer in the cassette. The cassette close is not a means of balancing the bank statement; instead it lets you know the status of cash-on-hand in the machine.

After a cassette close, you need to enter the total number of bills in the cassette. Now, take what is remaining in the cassette, in addition to the money being added, and enter that amount as your starting point of bills. If this is not completed after a cassette close, the machine believes that it has no money and resets the starting amount of bills to zero. This will cause the machine to report negative numbers on the next trial cassette balance and/or cassette close.
* If you are adding to more than one cassette, simply repeat last four steps.

What's and when can I do a Trial Cassette Balance?

A trial cassette balance can be done at any time during the day. The purpose of the trial cassette balance is to keep a running total of the starting amount of bills, bills dispensed and bills remaining since the last cassette close. The trial cassette balance will also figure a rejected bill as a dispensed bill; even though the bill is still in the machine, it is no longer in the cassette. The cassette totals do not start over every time a trial cassette balance is done, only when a cassette close is done. The trial cassette balance is not a means of balancing the bank statement; however, it reports the status of the cash-on-hand in the machine.
When does my money go back into my account?

Money withdrawn from your ATM will be deposited the next business day. However, there may be delays occurred during holidays and weekends. If there are any questions on deposits, contact your local Bank since every bank has their own policies.
How often should I print a journal?

ATM journals are used to keep track of all machine activity. They are also used by technicians to verify transaction error(s). Should a customer dispute a transaction, the journal will clarify whether or not it has occurred. A “Print Journal” may be done monthly, not to exceed the journal printing limitations set by the manufacturer of your model). Before printing your journal, ensure that there is sufficient receipt paper in the machine to run the complete record.

*NOTE: You should never perform a “Clear Journal,” as this is for technician use only.

What if a customer does not get the proper money requested?

If a customer claims to have received an incorrect amount cash, first have them check the receipt for the term(s) “Full Reversal” or “Partial Reversal.” This declares that the bank has recognized an issue and the money requested but not received has been returned in full (Full Reversal) or in part (partial reversal) to their account. When this occurs, it’s suggested that the customer contact their banking institution for further clarification.

If a full/partial reversal is not the cause, and the machine is in working order, instruct the customer to contact the customer service department at their banking institution (contact information will be listed on the back of their card).
